Looks like a "Me Too" moment

Charles Runyon was the big-time Los Angeles TV clown, Chucko. Kids waited 5 years to get their names on his birthday segment of each show, and booked their birthday parties with him at Jungleland months in advance. His son, my late friend Randy, was our unicycle juggler at Jungleland, and continued the Chucko tradition when his father retired. He later lamented that clowning suffered terribly when Stephen King's horror novel, IT, depicted a clown as evil. Randy felt it got worse when the movie from the book was released. He said graphics such as the one seen here only added to the fear children developed for clowns.
