The Wagons Roll At Night #44

[The music played for Matt’s lion act consists of two authentic old marches: “The Billboard March” by John N. Klohr, and “Houstrauser’s March” by Paris Chambers.]

The trainer is Charles A. Bennett, our Uncle Ben, who worked on all the animal pictures which rented animals from the Compound--by whatever name--in Thousand Oaks. His first was JUNGLE PRINCESS, in 1936, starring Dorothy Lamour. Lively Dottie, personable and charming, became his favorite actress to work with. For CAGED FURY, he had his hair dyed blonde so he could double Richard Denning in the arena scenes. If you see both, notice the Louis Roth wooden props are used, as is the cage wagon, holding many of the same lions.
