Jim,
Thanks so much for sharing all those great photos of Beatty Cole.
All we have are memories and photos of the way it was.
Capt. Fred C Logan, Walter and that beautiful 3 ring tent all gone.
Oh, how I wish we could turn back the clock.

Jim,
Fred C was a great friend of many of us and when you walked on the Beatty Cole he know you and always a kind word and the jackpots started.
His penmanship was a class act and we all have many of his letters with all the show info on it.
And what memories we all have of Capt. Logan.
What a way to start off the day Jim, with those great photos, the way it was.

agreed: very sad not to have the Logans with us, hard to believe, really, as Freddy was always there, just like Rex and Hugo Schmitt!--they had great elephant acts, and were an important part of the community; just listened to the Kelly Miller score from 1960 and Freddy was then head bull man.

Johnny: the background of the pic looks like it might be at Deland.
If so the tusker might some visitor just passing through. Ya think? Best suggestion I can come up with.

On second thought, I think that's just a patch of sky instead of a tusk.

Look real close. That is the sky, between the truck and leg. That elephant was Helen and the next one was Sue.
As Harry has mentioned, Freddie had EXCELLENT PENMANSHIP. I have retained EVERY LETTER he sent me. And there is enough info in those letters to write a small book.

I am looking for anyone with pictures of or memories to share with my husband, Kenny D. from NH who worked under Capt. Fred Logan and Walt in the Elephant Dept from about 1988-1990 give or take a year. He has fond memories of that time and the people he worked with. (His older brother, Don, had worked for CBCB at some point before Ken joined.) I don't think Ken has any pics from those times and I'm sure he'd love to hear from the folks he worked with. Please reply to sdewolfeburns@yahoo.com

Thanks!
