Marilyn Miller (From Dave Price)

In case your readers are too young to recognize the name Marilyn Miller: She was the biggest of Ziegfeld's singing and dancing stars. Starred in many big Broadway productions, died at age thirty-seven in 1936. Here we see her honored by having a cigar named after her.

The 1949 movie Look for the Silver Lining was the story of her life with June Haver playing Marilyn.

As Dave knows, Ms Miller died of an infection after sinus surgery.

"One never knows, do one?"

Some years ago Bob Gable, longtime friend of Clyde Beatty, visited us for a few days.

One morning at breakfast he asked if I knew who Marilyn Miller was. I excused myself and brought back my files on Marilyn.

He was amazed that I even knew who she was, let alone had any memorabilia on her.
