been either chariots or maybe

just Roman Riding as either would

have fit the billing & could have

been chosen based on conditions

A tradition on three ring circuses with this variety of Hippodrome races. Last time it was done on the 54 King Bros. Circus. Floyd King loved the races and frquently came in and clanged the bell at the bandstand signaling the start and then great circus gallos for music made it vgery exciting. We did chariots pulled by ponies, roman standing, horse and rider against a single pony [pony would cut thru an end ring to win the race]and etc.MR and I rode Roman. johnny
