How old would this elephant have been at the time (March, 1966)?

I always thought that "elephant coat" was a very clever idea. Who made it, and how often did it need to be modified?

It was made by a clown on the show Jimmy Douglas.
It had adjustable straps that were let out as she grew.

I recall Jim Douglas had a shop

on the East coast of Florida

where he built costumes and spec

floats that he sold & rented to

quite a few shows & producers

I think I've still got that blanket.
I should send it down to Heiei Taylor.

Jimmy was one of the great producing clowns--did dates for years with producer Gracie McIntosh and others.

Jim also had a large collection of theatrical trunks, mostly Taylors, I believe. Anyone know what became of them?

Not to mention Band Organs (mechanical music boxes from merry-go-rounds) stashed in U-Store-its all over the country . . . I believe Vern Woerner's son (can't remember his name) was involved in the disposition of Jimmy's estate when he passed . . .

Have an old upright steamer in

my warehouse that I'd be happy

to "donate" to a collector

Get in touch if you want it

I still have a pair of Black & White Sport Clown Shoes , owned previously by Jimmy James , I bought in 1977 from Jimmy Douglas at his Deland(?),Fl. facility . I recall It was a Unique , rather secluded facility , with a little Storefront room selling Circus Clown : Makeup , Noses , Costumes & Fine Quality Custom Made Yack Wigs & Very Nice Leather Clown Shoes . The Fabracation Shop in the rear was where he constructed the Props & everything needed for many Standard Clown Gags he also sold with there Instructions & shiped out through a mailorder bizz to many Shriner Clowns around the Nation . I believe I still have his List of Products from then in My Precious Ole' Dusty Louis Vitone Clown Trunk . He seamed to have a decent little Bizz setup & goen on outa there then . I too can't resist an Antique Trunk & should get rid of a few .

I thought his shop was in either

Hollywood or Hallandale but maybe

he also had another location

Just spoke with Kenny Dodd who

was a good friend of Jimmy Douglas

and he corrected me that the shop

was in Daytona Beach

Sorry Roger but Mike Naughton

called me yesterday and will

probably take it

If he doesn't I'll get in touch

Much other "historical" crap

(50 year accumulation) needs

to find new homes before it all

ends up in a dumpster some day

You're welcome to come & look
