This great carnival played the South Carolina State Fair here in Columbia for years,I was 6 years old in 1954, My Dad was a member of the Fair Association. One of the memories I have was of Frank Bergen himself setting me on one of the merry go round horses for a free ride, it may have been in 54 I was to young to remember the year. He and my father became good friends. I wish I could go back and watch those big orange wagons come down the runs again.

Hal also has some great photos of the shows equipment 10 years later when the show went broke. Most of the wagons were junk by then. Some were scattered here in South Carolina and a lot in North Carolina. Many of you may recall that most of the train was bought by the Joseph Schlitz Brewing Company for the CWM Parade train with Foley and Burk Carnival in California getting the rest of the flatcars.
