Advance Crew leaving town

These great old shots of billing crews and railroad advance cars I always find interesting. I'm sure there was quite a cost to it. But somehow today's shows see little value in this any more. I often hear circus enthusiasts say, "I didn't even know the show was in town!" There has to be a modern day way to let the world know you're coming.

This past weekend business had me drive through a town and I saw window cards tacked to some telephone poles for a show coming next week. I knew what they were, but with all the small print the average person driving by has no clue what it says! I already knew the the show was coming next week, and planned to visit for a day, but.......

Great picture, and can't wait for your review of Carson & Barnes!
