Damage control

I see on the front page of this mornings Tampa Tribune an article regarding the new Ken & Nicole Show, now in rehearsal, apologizing before the fact. I had hoped that finally some mention might be made of who actually appears in the program, other than the clowns stolen from Carson & Barnes, the rest remain secret.
Mr. Feld was in action copping a plea saying that despite the downsizing, the logo "The Greatest Show on Earth" remains in good hands. I don't think that this is quite what
P.T. Barnum had in mind.

Ringling Bros combined & Barnum and Bailey combined, as well as Bob Parkinson, Chappie Fox, etc are all "spinning in their graves like tops" at the desecration that is about to occur, of this (once) most hallowed institution, by the Ken & Nicole show. This just goes to prove that money, on some people , is definetly NOT a good "thing"! The "good old days" are now definetly gone forever on this once great bohemeth!

SUE died. Read the tes web site to see just how this place is trying to do damage control>>>> How many more will die after the loving care is given to the Hawthorn Elephants by those quacks from tes. tes was doing all the work until SUE died. Now they are blaming Hawthorn vets. Just like the old days, Putting the blame for mistakes on others while claiming the good things for themselves. Excuse me I have to PUKE

There is a rather large article in today's NEW YORK TIMES: "In a Daring Leap, Ringling Loses Its Three Rings."

The NY Times story seems to suggest that this move is a direct response to the new Cirque arena show that is playing 115 cities this year. The Felds deny any connection of course. If the new show stinks up the place, I suppose the circus will be "reinvented" again two years from now. I thought that it was interesting that Ken Feld as much as said that their are no plans to make all three shows one ring units

It's probably unfair to say that this sounds a lot like a parent indulging a child by letting her play with the family jewels -- but all of the spin control before the show even opens is odd. Like the product did get raves in preview thus can't be trusted to speak for itself.

The Ringling people know that this show is a DISASTER, and they are in danger of losing several venues in big cities accross the country. One being in the Chicago Area. One manager said if we wanted to bring in a upgrated version of the Bozo Circus T,V. peogram we would have contacted WGN TV in Chicago.

They could hire caroborkin and put a quick death to the whole show. This has happened to most of the circus elephants already.

Thease people are contacting Shrine clubs and offering them money so they can play the date. The Circus comittee of one temple was offered 37000.00 to play a 6 day stand in Indiana, in a bldg that seats 5500,its bad enough that we have to put up with bad acts, 45 minute Intermissions for elephant rides and toy sales.Maybe some of these producers. well see the light and produce a good show for once. Only thing good about using Ringling is that we get our money up front, before any ticket sales at all. I"m sure that the rest well stay the same.

I feel for the performers. Can you imigian [?] what is going through their minds? The very last and not yet published names mentioned in all this fan fare. The fate of RBBB will hurt them the most. And they had no say in the production and the way it was presented to the public. Hang in there folks.

Wherever they are, I hate to think of the feelings of Pat Valdo and Fred Bradna over a show like this.

Buckles, this afternoon I was watching the Western Channel. An old Rog Rogers show called " Trigger Jr" They had a small circus, wagons all repainted to say Rogers Circus. They even had a Male Lion act worked by a guy in Cowboy outfit. I missed the credits when they ran and was wondering if you knew who was the cat trainer? And I guess the real name of the show? Thanks, Gary
